Race Of 300 Miles Celebrates The Life Of An Endurance Racer
Celebrate the life and memory of Mark Hahn at the 14th Annual Mark Hahn Memorial 300 Mile Race. Mark Hahn was an endurance racer, instrumental in growing the sport across the country before his untimely death during a PWC race in 2004. This event is expected to draw a record number of teams from around the globe as well as all of the top PWC racers.
From First Time To Seasoned
The race is designed to be a lifestyle event that allows first-time racers as well as veteran racers to compete at their own level where everyone walks away a winner having just competed in and completed the grueling 300-mile journey.
There are so many variables in the event — from fuel stops, rider changes, rough water conditions and attrition — it is conceivable that a stock boat with an inexperienced racer could walk away the overall winner.
World’s Longest
The Mark Hahn Memorial is the World’s Longest Endurance Race, and one of the only races that uses a Le Mans start. Race entries from last year’s event included entries from Portugal, Japan, Canada, Chile, Germany, Indonesia, France, Slovakia, Belgium, Australia and Russia.
Wounded Warriors Ride To Help Others
As last year, this year brings some very unique and interesting athletes to the competition — Shawn Alladio is founder of the Never Quit Challenge, a personal watercraft adventure to benefit the military’s wounded warriors.
These competitors have war wounds of their own, mostly amputees, who battle their own challenges to go above and beyond to help others. These military warriors ride to help others, and are coming to Lake Havasu City to compete in the Mark Hahn Memorial this year.
Friend Hosts Banquet
Following the race, Mark’s long-time friend Mike Follmer will host a first-class awards banquet featuring cash purses and great giveaways. Situated in Lake Havasu City, the Mark Hahn Memorial 300 is covered by international boating media, enhancing the bragging rights in and around the entire “Jet Ski” racing world.
