Kids Will Want To Wear This Colorful Life Jacket
When parents tell a child to put on an average awkwardly-fitting PFD, the response is usually eye-rolling, groaning and pleading. But those days are gone with Bombora’s new line of Kid Vests created especially for young boaters. The USCG-approved Type III life jackets come in two bright color combinations and are designed for all-day comfort, no matter the activity.
Bombora Kid Vests provide 11 lbs. of flotation and come in two sizes. The child model is approved for 30–50 lbs. with chest sizes 20″ to 25″. The youth version is designed for those 50–90 lbs. with chest sizes 26″ to 30″.
Both Bombora Kid Vests feature a heavy-duty zipper and two belts with Delrin buckles for a snug, secure fit. The child model also incorporates an adjustable leg strap for added safety. A recovery loop is sewn onto the back of each vest to assist kids back into the boat.
Unlike many blocky PFDs, Bombora Kid Vests have layers of soft, lightweight EPE foam that’s contoured around the neck for maximum comfort. The roomy arm holes provide freedom of movement for swimming and other strenuous activities.
Bombora Kid Vests are made with 200d and 300d polyester fabric that’s soft to the touch. Available in two color themes: turquoise and white Tidal, as well as blue, yellow and red Sunrise, they retail for $55.
