SPRINGERVILLE, Ariz. — Because of the Wallow Fire and continued fire danger, those wishing to visit the national forest need to check before they go.
Apache Forest Closure Information
All of the Apache National Forest is closed to public entry, including the Big Lake Area, Luna Lake, and Nelson Reservoir, the Black River area and Greer lakes and campgrounds.
Sitgreaves National Forest Recreation Information
All of the Sitgreaves National Forest is closed to public entry except for the following recreation sites, which remain open with fire restrictions:
Lakeside RD
Camp Tatiyee, Camp Grace, and the Rim Overlook Trail (#650)
Fools Hollow Lake Recreation Area
Lakeside Campground
Scott Reservoir Recreation Area
Woodland Lake Park
Black Mesa Ranger District
Canyon Point Campground
Rim Campground
Sinkhole Campground
Tall Timbers County Park
Willow Springs Lake, Willow Springs Lake Day Use Area, Willow Springs Boat Ramp
Woods Canyon Recreation Area – includes the following campgrounds:
*Aspen Campground
*Crook Group site
*Rocky Point Day Use Picnic Area
*Spillway Campground
*Spillway Group Site
*Woods Canyon Lake
*Woods Canyon Group Site
*Woods Canyon Dump Station
*Woods Canyon Store and Marina
Note: The paved portion of National Forest System Road (NFSR) 300 and NFSR 105 to Woods Canyon Lake Road are open.
