The Lake Havasu Boat Show, an established 20-year tradition in the recreational boating industry, will start a new era in 2012 when show operations, management and marketing become the responsibility of Media Direction, a well-known 32-year marine industry advertising, public relations and event promotions company headquartered in Southern California.

Making it even better for 2012 is the fact that the boat show has been scheduled to fall on the weekend, April 20-22, just prior to the spectacular Desert Storm event. By combining these two outstanding special events into one continuous nine-day boating extravaganza, avid boaters from all parts of the country will be encouraged to make an extended stay and not miss a minute of the action.
Lake Havasu Marine Association Executive Director, Jim Salscheider commented, "Our association started the boat show in 1991 and has guided its success for the past 20 years, something we're all very proud of. It was the unanimous decision of our Board of Directors and the desire of many exhibitors, however, that this boat show needs to continue growing and be taken to another level.
“In order to achieve that, Media Direction was the logical choice to make that happen. With more than two decades of boat-show promotion experience and strong business relationships with the media and the entire marine industry, they are a perfect fit to ensure its continued success."

And, in true Lake Havasu spirit, it's back to the '50s, '60s and '70s on Saturday and Sunday with "Legends by the Lake Car Show,"produced by members of the London Bridge Yacht Club featuring 200 "woodies", street rods, and classics, plus a host of immaculately restored V-drive flattys, hydros and jets...the boats that made Lake Havasu famous back when it all began. On Monday, April 23, the activity switches to the Windsor Beach Launch Ramp for Demo Day, affording potential buyers the opportunity to test ride and drive new boats prior to purchase.
Bob Brown, Media Direction founder and president said, "For the past several years, the Lake Havasu Boat Show has bucked a general trend of boat show decline across the country with impressive increases in attendance and exhibitor participation.
“I commend the Lake Havasu Marine Association for its commitment and efforts to present a first-class boat show for the benefit of the local marine industry and Lake Havasu City. Now it's my responsibility to build upon this solid foundation and deliver an even better product in the future."
