This classic 1954 36' Chris-Craft Commander was delivered to her new home at Bartlett Lake Marina where she is being prepared to once again take her place on the water.
A great article by Bill Basler in the latest issue of The Brass Bell indicates that here may only be several hundred of these classics, over 50', left in the world. The Brass Bell is a print publication provided by the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club. It's hard to believe that there are many more of the 36 footers as well.
To date, the bottom and hull have been stripped to bare wood. The next step will be to repair and/or replace any necessary planking and to refasten. Next will come paint and varnish.
The plan is to utilize some innovative new methods to ensure the integrity of the framework and make the hull watertight.
All donations of labor, materials and equipment are gladly accepted and tax deductible.
"Rock The Boat" is a 501C3 company.
