Scorpion Bay Marina & Yacht Club is fully operational and providing world class marina services to families and friends. The Grand Opening will be this Labor Day weekend, September 4th through September 7th. The friendly marina staff will be giving tours of the facility all weekend long.
Scorpion Bay Marina offers a million-dollar view from every slip. The marina offers wet slips for boats up to 60 feet, economy dry-land boat storage, as well as boat rentals including pontoons, fishing boats, ski-boats and kayaks.
Located in Peoria, Arizona on Lake Pleasant, Scorpion Bay was designed and built to provide a facility to marine enthusiasts that is second to none. Careful consideration was given as to how this marina could provide convenience, safety, family fun and great entertainment. For example, parking is a breeze with Scorpion Bay Marina’s no cost electric tram which takes guests and their gear from the parking lot to the dock in minutes.
A fully staffed and operational restaurant and bar provides favorite food items and drink specials as well as live music on the covered outdoor patio. Families and friends will have a great experience while enjoying a fantastic view of the lake. Dillon's will own and operate the restaurant and bar in addition to a fully stocked convenience store and deli.
Dillon’s is owned by Rich Dillon and George Valverde who operate three other restaurants in the West Valley. “We are celebrating our 10th anniversary by opening Dillon’s at Scorpion Bay,” said Valverde. “It will be our pleasure to welcome all marina guests and offer them great service.”
Scorpion Bay Marina & Yacht Club General Manager Cris McSparen has been involved in the Arizona marina industry for over 18 years and brings excitement, experience and leadership to Scorpion Bay. “Scorpion Bay offers amenities and conveniences that are unmatched in the industry,” said McSparen. “Our world class marina is now fully operational and ready to serve all customers who we sincerely hope will become our friends.”
The Scorpion Bay facility’s construction was put on hold last spring in order to resolve permitting issues with the Maricopa County Planning and Development Department. All of these issues have been resolved and construction has now been completed.
The marina is managed by Skipper Marine Development d.b.a SkipperBud’s. The SkipperBud’s team was responsible for the design, engineering and construction of the entire Scorpion Bay complex. SkipperBud’s brings incredible experience to this project, since they currently own or operate over 15 marinas in Wisconsin, Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio, and Florida. It's this type of knowledge that will assure slip holders that Scorpion Bay will be professionally run.
