Chillin’ Out At Hot AWA June Events

On June 24, MB Boats of Arizona and The Board Shack sponsored the fourth stop of the Arizona Wakeboard Association’s Rider’s Series at Two Cow Cove, Lake Pleasant.

The first day of summer was June 21 and this was a great way to celebrate and beat the heat — chilling out at an AWA Event. The Board Shack revived the Belly Flop Contest to give riders and spectators a fun way to keep cool and to have a chance to win a new pair of shades.

As if sponsoring the event and the Belly Flop Contest wasn’t enough, The Board Shack also held a huge sale in conjunction with their event.

MB Boats provided two incredible boats to launch AWA riders skyward. The event was pulled by an MB B52 V and a MB B52 V23 Team. (The B52 V is 22 feet in length, sports 1,600 pounds of stock ballast and is powered by an Excaliber 5.7 330 HP engine. The B52 V23 is 23 feet long with a whooping 2,500 pounds of stock ballast and is powered by a ZR6 375 HP engine.)

This was an opportunity to check out one of the best wakes in the industry.

June 3 Was Hot In Temp And Action

It was 112 degrees Fahrenheit in Phoenix, hot even by Arizona standards, on June 3. That didn’t keep 54 faithful Arizona Wakeboard Association riders from heading to the oasis in the desert.

Two Cow Cove was, once again, the coolest place to be and to see the hottest wakeboarding action in the state. Now that Mother Nature has opened the proverbial oven door, the competition on the water is heating up too. As of this event, there were three events down and three events to go — the battle for the State Title starting to get good.

After June 3, fewer than 20 points separated the first- and second-place riders in the standings for the intermediate, outlaw, wakeskate, and women’s divisions. With the State Titles up for grabs, the last events are sure to be incredible. Congratulations to the top three finishers

Century Marine and Hyperlite teamed up to provide AWA rippers with another great event. Century Marine provided a sacked-out Air Nautique 210 to launch riders as well as $80 gift certificates to first-place finishers.

Greg Dick, newly appointed VP of Marketing for Hyperlite, made the journey with his custom-painted Nautique to Arizona to help out at this spectacular event. Not only did Greg provide Hyperlite boardbags, backpacks, towels, or CD holders to the second- and third-place finishers, but he also supplemented the Outlaw division prize money.

What more could you ask for in a sponsorship team?
