 We Know Him As Bubba

About two decades ago, Jerry Puckett left Corporate America behind and
ran screaming into the desert with his child bride at his side and a young
son under each arm. Landing at Page, Arizona, the gateway to Lake Powell, he
and his family entered into several businesses including Bubba s
Texas-Style Barbeque, Bubba s Prop Shop, and Bubba s Guide Service.
To promote the family s various business interests, Puckett turned his
finely tuned corporate memo-writing skills toward outdoor writing. After
more than a decade of full-time guiding on Powell and multi-year stints as
feature columnist for the weekly Lake Powell Chronicle and the
monthly Arizona Fishing News, he hung it all up in favor of what
has become a 15-year labor of love as editor of Gary Yamamoto s Inside
Line magazine.
And, if you ve visited Lake Powell Country, you may have heard Puckett
over the last 15 years as he hosted first "Outdoors With Bubba," and for
the past decade, co-hosted "The Morning Show," broadcast from 6:30 to 8
a.m. Monday through Friday on 1340AM and 93.3FM in Page and 101.9FM in
Kanab, Utah, and Fredonia, Ariz.
