‘It was this big!…’
Fishing is a sport with many varieties: Fresh water, sea water; rivers, lakes; bass, trout; solitary or with the whole family.
Whether you are an experienced fisherman or just want something the whole family can do, you can’t do any better than fishing at Roosevelt Lake. With more than 15,000 surface acres and near-record water levels, Roosevelt Lake is that largest man-made lake in Central Arizona — a water oasis just two hours away from Phoenix. Fishing enthusiasts have plenty of space to stake their spots on the lake or even find their own special, private spaces without having to compete for places.
Big Cats And More
And the lake is stocked with largemouth and smallmouth bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, bluegill, crappie and carp. The U.S. Forest Service reports that catfish weighing more than 60 pounds have been reeled in at Roosevelt Lake.
The Arizona Fishing Guides calls Roosevelt Lake “the place to be for a serious bass fisherman. When timed right, this lake can kick out incredible numbers of largemouth bass, including some giant bass over 10 pounds.” Arizona Fish and Game reports that, “For the first time in several years, schools of bluegill fish were also reported, which is a very positive sign that the fishery is improving.” And with the warmer weather, larger schools of crappie are anticipated.
Enjoy A Beverage And A Bite
Roosevelt Lake Marina can make your fishing expedition even easier, as our Marina ShipStore has live bait available. After a day on the water, we encourage you to come back to the marina with your fish stories, and tell them to our guests at our Floating Bar, where you can enjoy a beverage and a bite.
Got Boat?
Freshwater fishing boats come in three main categories, according to boat.com: bass boats, multi-species boats and aluminum fishing boats. If you have your own boat, you can launch it from Roosevelt Lake Marina’s ramp. In addition, by becoming a member of Roosevelt Lake Marina, you can store your boat in our dry-storage yards for added convenience.
For those who don’t have their own fishing boats, you can rent one of our 18-foot pontoon boats, which are great for cruising and fishing.
Reel ‘Em In At Rosie
