Ah, The Comfort Of A Cool Seat!

By Garth Harris

In case you were wondering why it’s so hot outside, it’s summer. What’s more, it’s summer in Arizona.

Okay, why am I stating something that is so obvious? We watch the local television weather reporters break out in a sweat just talking about the summer heat.

Well, it’s to tell you about a new product that was invented and patented by Arizona residents. That’s right, after years of taking the abuse from the Arizona summer sun, someone did something that the rest of us wish we had done — invented the Cool and Heat Seat Cushion.

The Cool part is for us Southern Hemisphere folks who don’t know enough to move North during the summer months. The Heat portion is for those folks who haven’t learned its okay to visit Southern Arizona during the cold winter months.

The seat cushion is designed using recent advancements in Thermo-Electric Technology, which utilizes soft coils inside the seat cushion to cool or heat the cushion as the user demands.

It works great for burning-hot car seats, sweaty backs and bottoms, and for lower back pain. The seat-cushion package also comes with an AC adapter so that it can used in the office, home, patio or your automobile. It is the only cooling seat cushion on the market today.

Utilizing the Cool or Heat Seat Cushion, drivers may be able to lower their gas usage by using the vehicle air-conditioning system less than they otherwise would need to do.

We took it on two test rides.  The first time we placed two cushions on the seats of a 1985 280 Mercedes SL convertible and drove round trip from Mesa to Payson, Ariz.

With the top down, even with the AC turned up high, it would get pretty warm inside the car before we would get into the high country. However, we discovered that the Cool and Heat Seat Cushion did as it promised it would.

It greatly aided in keeping our backs and bottoms cool while driving with the top down.  Another nice feature, we discovered, while riding around the Rim country, where it would cool down quite a bit at night,  we turned the cushion to heat mode, which created a very nice comfortable ride with the top down.

The second time we tested the cushion was during a trip in our motor home.  During a very long I-17 traffic delay, we felt that the Cool or Heat Seat Cushion went a long way to keeping us cool and comfortable; this allowed us to turn off our roof-mounted air conditioners and wait out the traffic snarl.

The ability to turn off the roof-mounted ACs, thus our generator, allowed us to cut down on the amount of fuel we would otherwise have had to use.

At over $3.00 per gallon for fuel, that usage would add up to a substantial expense.

The Cool or Heat Seat Cushion is a complete personal cooling and heating system that easily installs on top of any car seat, office chairs, patio chairs, or home loungers.  The Cool or Heat Seat package comes with a thermo-electric power unit/pump, a foam- padded seat cushion with soft coils that allow for the circulation of the cooling or heating liquid, and 12-volt DC vehicle adapter, and an AC home/office wall-outlet adapter.
