All Arizona hunting, fishing license sales went online Jan. 1. License dealers will no longer sell traditional paper licenses, but many will offer an online purchase option; customers can also buy directly online at https://license.azgfd.com/ or at AZGFD offices. As always, customers can also purchase their hunting, fishing or hunt/fish combo licenses online directly at https://license.azgfd.com/, 24/7, or in person at AZGFD offices during normal business hours (8-5 M-F). March 1: GCNP Bus Updates
There will be three shuttle bus routes in operation on the South Rim this spring. Masks are required in line and on all park shuttle buses. Shuttle buses are also operating at reduced capacity. Visitors should expect prolonged wait times of 30-45 minutes to board a bus during busier times of the day. (See story on page 15.)
March 1: AZGFD Deadline
March 1 is deadline to update credit card information, purchase PointGuard for 2022 pronghorn, elk hunts. The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) reminds hunters who applied for 2022 pronghorn and elk hunt permit-tags that 11:59 p.m. (Arizona time) Tuesday, March 1, is the deadline to update credit card or debit card account information.
The same deadline applies to purchasing PointGuard, which ensures if a successful applicant is unable or unwilling to participate in a hunt for any reason (illness, family emergencies, and even acts of nature such as wildfires and severe weather), the accumulated bonus points that were expended to draw that hunt permit-tag will be reinstated. The cost is $5 for each species.
Also, a customer’s AZGFD portal account is the only source for finding out draw results and viewing bonus points.

Phoenix Interagency Fire Center will host aviation training. Residents and businesses in the Queen Valley area will notice an increase in air traffic February 21 to March 18 due to aerial supervision training.The USDA Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management national aviation offices are sponsoring this training, which will take place at the Phoenix Interagency Fire Center located at the Mesa Gateway Airport.Agency pilots who attend this training earn certifications through enhanced implementation of the National Wildfire Coordinating Group curriculum. The program includes table exercises and simulations, avionics and radio labs, and actual flight time.

The deadline to enter the 17th annual Arizona Big Game Super Raffle is Sunday, July 10, at 10 p.m. (Arizona time). There is no limit to the number of raffle tickets that you can order. The names of the winners will be drawn July 20. (See story on page 1)
