Featured Boat Of The Month
New Water Feature At Arizona National Boat Show
The Arizona National Boat Show and Fishing Exposition will
jump-start the 2007 boating season with the arrival of the new 2007
boats and the latest in boating accessories and fishing gear, Jan.
24-28 at the Phoenix Convention Center, 33 S. Third St., in downtown
Phoenix.
New to the show this year, a 170-foot "Wake Park" featuring the
best pro wake riders in the country. The "Wake Park" is an on-site
pool and rail that features professional wakeboarders and wakeskaters
demonstrating hot new tricks as they slide the rails and jump the gap
at boat speeds.
"The Wake Park will be a favorite of all who enjoy wakeboarding as
well as boating in general," said Jon Greenband, show producer. "This
will be the Phoenix debut of the Wake Park. The best riders in the
world will show off their skills at the show."
Sponsored by Epic Boats, Liquid Force, Monster Energy Drink, and
Bill Luke Dodge, the Wake Park will feature such top riders as Kevin
Henshaw and Aaron Reed of Liquid Force and Scott Byerly of Air
Nautique and Hyperlite.
Patrick Panakos, a professional wake boarder, featured on the cover
of Wake Boarding Magazine,
will build the "Wake Park". Panakos not only operates the Projects
wakeboard and wake skate camp in Orlando, Fla. but also builds ramps
and rails for the famous X Games.
The Wake Park is 20 feet wide and features 35-foot rails. Riders
are pulled by a gas-powered winch through a pond and over the rails
into a landing pond. Each rider demonstrates his skill, style, and
creativity while being pulled at boat speeds.
In addition to the hundreds of boats, the Arizona National Boat
Show will give fishing enthusiasts the opportunity to see a giant
4,000-square-foot fishing aquarium with live sessions by local
professional anglers and bass fishermen. Professionals will also be
giving hands-on fly-tying seminars at the fly-tying theater.
Attendees have the opportunity to win a 14-foot fishing boat and a
Lake Powell houseboat adventure.
