Touch-A-Truck Returns To Lake Pleasant
Children can interact with oversized vehicles.
Kids, big and small, have the opportunity to interact with large vehicles such as fire trucks, earth movers, dump trucks, backhoes, excavators and the APS Condor Bucket Truck. This massive APS vehicle can reach heights up to a 20-story building and is the largest such truck in North America. Touch-A-Truck is being held at Pleasant Harbor, located on the southeastern shores of Lake Pleasant on February 26 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The event is free. However, there is a $7.00 entrance fee per vehicle. Touch-A-Truck affords kids the unique opportunity to climb on their favorite oversized vehicles, without parent reprimand. In addition to the large vehicles on-hand, this interactive event features food trucks, DJ and numerous hands-on kids’ activities. The event is sponsored by Pleasant Harbor and Maricopa Water District.
Pleasant Harbor is open to the public 365 days a year, featuring boat, sail and Jet Ski rentals, kayaks, paddle boards, fishing guides, boat and R/V sales, H2-Whoa!, the world’s largest floating waterslide, the Phoenix boat cruise, slip rentals and storage, as well as a full service RV resort with 253 spaces, featuring a club house, store, heated pool and Jacuzzi.
“Touch-A-Truck is a unique opportunity for kids,” said Deneen Ramirez, event director at Pleasant Harbor. “They will be able to be hands-on and explore a wide variety of large vehicles.”
From the Phoenix area, Pleasant Harbor is the closest entrance to Lake Pleasant, conveniently located off Carefree Highway and 87th Avenue (8708 W. Harbor Boulevard, Peoria, AZ 85383). Visitors exiting I-17, travel west on Carefree Highway, or take North 99th Avenue/North Lake Pleasant Parkway from Bell Road to Carefree Highway and then west to 87th Avenue and then onto Harbor Boulevard.
