Dear Jim & Carol, I just wanted to thank you personally for all the publicity you provided, as well as the auction donation, for this last weekend's Leukemia Cup Regatta, January 16-18, 2009, at Lake Pleasant Harbor with the Arizona Yacht Club. It was also fun to be on the radio - for the first time ever! We had many compliments and cannot thank you enough for your generous contributions. The regatta was a HUGE success! We had 240 people for dinner Saturday night (a record!), and 64 boats competing in the Leukemia Cup, Eventagram, and Birthday Regatta races. Rick D'Amico (Channel 10 Fox News) once again emcee'd our live auction. The Arizona Yacht Club's goal was to raise $65,000 for LLS this year, but with gas prices sky high earlier in the year and the current economic conditions, we were doubtful. Shame on us! We raised over $67,000 for patient aid and blood cancer research. On behalf of the brave blood cancer patients in Arizona, I extend our sincere thanks for your help in making this a very special event.
