Compiled By Margie Anderson

Feb: 10 – 11: John Perkins of Lake Havasu City won the WON Bass tournament at Havasu with 31.85 pounds for two days.  His big fish was 5.46 pounds, and he won a very decent $23,625.

Feb 17: After high winds caused about an hour delay in the start of the AllStar Bass Couples tournament held at Lake Pleasant, the Cottonwood team of Jennifer and Weston McCracken went on to catch the heaviest of only three six-bass limits for the win. Their limit weighed 11.47 pounds, including a 3.87-pounder.

They received checks totaling $2,110 plus the first-place trophy.  The couple fished jigs and Carolina-rigged lizards in Humbug Cove, where their big fish came on a jig.

In the first of the Anglers’ Choice Central Arizona tournaments, which was held at Roosevelt Lake, Mack Johnson and Duck Ezell took home $645 for a five-fish limit that weighed 10.53.  This is a good circuit to get into; they’re just starting, but you’ll still fish for a boat at the end of the year.  Contact Vern Price at (702) 896-1198 for info.

Czerniski and Robinson won the JackAZ tournament at Roosevelt with 25.13, which included a massive Big Fish at 12.87!  They took home $2,225 for their efforts.

The brothers, 2005 AllStar Bass Team Anglers of the Year, fished homemade jigs and Texas-rigged worms on main lake points down to 10 feet.
