New Small Windlass Packs A Big Punch
Boaters seeking a better quality windlass can end their search with the innovative Mini Genius from Quick. Bringing a powerful windlass to craft up to 23' in length, the state-of-the-art unit won't jam, corrode, weigh a ton or take up lots of space like traditional windlasses. Looks can be deceiving with the heavy-duty Mini Genius. A dependable, 12-volt, 250-watt motor delivers a maximum pull of 1,210 pounds, a maximum working load of 375 pounds and a maximum recovery speed of 95 ft/min. The streamlined windlass can support 1/4" chain spliced to 1/2" rope or 5/16" chain spliced to 9/16" rope. A revolutionary wrap-around chain stripper constructed from AISI 316 stainless steel prevents jamming. The durable Mini Genius is made of aluminum anodized in hard oxide. Unlike the more widely used type of anodization, the Mini Genius' anodized aluminum employs a method that provides a hard oxide layer up to 50 micron thick. Intended for the harsh marine environment, the high-thickness increases surface area hardness, corrosion and abrasion resistance and provides a longer service life. Small and compact, it measures just 8-1/3" x 7-1/2" x 5". The sleek and low-profile design takes up little space, allowing for flexible installation above or below deck to accommodate various bow configurations. The most compact windlass on the market, the Mini Genius from Quick delivers greater power than most units twice its size. The suggested retail price is $1,017. It is available with free fall for $1,124. Ensuring the best possible quality, Quick manufactures their entire product line in their facility in Italy. Dedicated to their customers' satisfaction, Quick offers unmatched nautical equipment, including capstans, battery chargers, inverters, water heaters, lighting and other unique accessories.
