AZGFD Busy Stocking Urban LakesStockings of Arizona’s urban lakes will occur randomly Monday through Saturday during the week indicated. The fish species stocked is in parentheses. This schedule will only change if fish-delivery problems occur or conditions at an individual lake are unsuitable for stocking. Due to extreme heat conditions every summer, there are no fish stockings to urban lakes and ponds between July 1 and Sept. 15. As a reminder, the following waters are managed under the Urban Pond concept: Rio Vista, Papago, Steele Indian School, and Canal. The daily bag limit at these urban ponds is two trout, two catfish, five sunfish, and one bass per angler per day in possession (one trout for unlicensed children). Daily bag limits at all other urban lakes is four trout, four catfish, 10 sunfish and two bass per angler per day. Shown at Cortez are left to right: Emily Anderson, Danielle DeMarco, Trinity Anderson, Vicky DeMarco and behind them: Tiffany Anderson, Toni DeMarco, and John Anderson. With recent stockings of super-incentive trout by Arizona Game & Fish's Urban Fishing Program, families can look forward to some great catching right in the city. |
