Be Part Of The First ‘Days At The Lake’Huge Striper Derby, Fish Fry, Outdoors Expo Ahead
From DD Media The first annual Days at the Lake is coming to Lake Pleasant on Oct. 12, 13 and 14, featuring Arizona's first-ever Striper Derby and fish fry. This three-day family event will offer fun and adventure for all ages. The Striper Derby is directed at Arizona 's recreational anglers and families that love to fish. The concept of this event is in conjunction with conservation efforts in trying to limit the striper population in Lake Pleasant . Most other tournaments across the state are focused on largemouth and small-mouth bass. Striper derbies are commonplace throughout the country, and now Arizona will have a striper derby to call its own. Stripers are not a native species to Lake Pleasant and have become a nuisance and compete with largemouth bass for habitat and forage. With the blessings of the Arizona Game and Fish Department and Pleasant Harbor and Marina , this first annual Striper Derby is going to be great fun. At the end of each day's weigh-in there will be the biggest-ever family fish fry, with proceeds to be donated to a local conservation organization. In addition to the Striper Derby there will be an on-the-water boat show, RV displays, and Outdoor Adventure Expo. The best end-of-the year deals to be made on boats and RVs will be found at the Days at the Lake . The Outdoor Adventure Expo will feature Arizona 's outdoor retailers, agencies, clubs, and organizations, adventure guides, and local outdoors experts. Watercraft displays, 4x4s and OHVs, wildlife exhibits, camping equipment, GPS and orienteering seminars, rock climbing, X-treme Campsite, star gazing, wilderness survival tactics, maps, horseback riding, canoes and kayaking, RVs and camp trailers, fishing, hunting, and shooting simulators, outdoors adventures, national, local, and regional agencies and more — they'll all be there. On display and for sale will be everything outdoors — from archery to water skiing. If you would like more information on how you can participate in the
