TUBES TOO -- are boats, aren't they? Float boats, perhaps? Or boat floats? However they are classed, Parker Area Tourism's Tommy Bonapache reports that Parker's annual Great Western Tube Float with a '70s disco theme was held in June with an attendance of over 1,300 tube floaters. He says, "T he boating season is upon us! Our 15 miles of the Parker Strip are full of activities and fun along the Colorado River . Along with floating nightclubs and restaurants, and a major casino, there is plenty to do and see." On July 4 there is an Independence Day celebration with fireworks at the fairgrounds, and on July 7 at the Blue Water Resort & Casino, there will be a triple concert and fireworks show between each band.  July 14  is th annual FLOG Baseball Golf Fundraiser sponsored by local radio station KLPZ 1390 AM. This unusual and entertaining event features golfing with a baseball bat, and you'd never know that golf could be so crazy, funny and wacky! All the proceeds go to local charities. Come to Parker, invites Bonapache, to tube or boat or just enjoy.
