SCORPION ARRIVES

SCORPION ARRIVES -- Dan Turner, owner of Sun Valley Fiber-glas, Inc., stands by the first boat to be refurbished in the Rock the Boat project. Ed Hale of Hale's Marine donated the 21-foot Chris-Craft and delivered it to Turner late in April. Once Turner assesses the processes needed on the boat, volunteers will begin doing the work. Eventually, the Scorpion will be covered with logos and names of all those who participated in the project. Then, the boat will be towed from one Arizona lake to another for PR and charitable purposes. The Art Institute of Phoenix will be doing some filming and will develop a Web site to post the progress of Rock the Boat. Volunteers are welcome to join in this educational and community-service project. Sun Valley Fiber-glas, Inc. is at 925 S. Center in Mesa and since 1987 has been repairing boats and does gel-coat colors, metal flake, custom painting, and trailer refinishing. Turner can be reached at (480) 833-6561.
