Tournament Results From Mid Aug.Through Mid-Sept.

They Were All On Fish

The MidWeek Bass Summer Sizzler Night Team Open tournament on Aug. 17 was won by Zack Holwerda and Wayne Hall with 13.38 pounds, including the Big Bass at 3.84 pounds. They shared a total of $1,205.

Andrew Napoleon of Mesa and Shannon Coppell of Gilbert weighed a two-day total of 24.29 pounds to win the 2007 AllStar Bass SuperTeam championship. The two-day event was held at Lake Pleasant on Friday and Sept. 7-8. The team won a 2008 Skeeter SX170 bass boat rigged with a Yamaha outboard, Minn Kota trolling motor and Lowrance electronics valued at $20,000.

Lyle Dalby and Todd Graffa won another JackAz Bass Night tournament on Aug. 25 at Roosevelt Lake and beat a field of 33 teams. They teamed up to weigh in a whopping 29.27 lbs to take home $1,150.

Zack Holwerda and Wayne Hall won the ABA Summer Night Team tournament at Lake Pleasant Aug. 25.  Zack and Wayne weighed 16.31 pounds, including Zack's big fish of 5.05, cashing checks totaling $1,370.

Our own Clifford Pirch wavered slightly on the final day, but he had enough to earn his first WON Bass U.S. Open title, finishing with 29.81 pounds, taking the $150,000 top prize which included $70,000 in cash, a Ford F150 pickup plus a Ranger Z21 bass boat, with Mercury 225 Pro XS outboard.  The Open was held at Mead US Sept. 10-12.

Jon Griffith and Dale Merry won the MBC Seniors 2007 Classic at Lake Pleasant on Sept. 8.  Jon and Dale weighed in a two-day total catch of 21.41 pounds to win a Triton aluminum boat with Mercury Motor and checks for $1,030.

Scott Guetti and Jim Wood win the MBC Pleasant Summer Nights at Lake Pleasant on Aug. 18.  Scott and Jim had 19.49 for first place, and Jim also caught a 17.44 catfish for Goon fish.  They won $1,185.

Although only his hand is visible, John Anderson was obviously "on fish" with this big bass. Other Arizona anglers were too as there were many big hookups during August and September. Special congratulations to Clifford Pirch who won his first WON Bass U.S. Open title on Sept. 10-12.
