Glen Canyon News Release

Page, Ariz. – Colton Dixon succumbed to his injuries today from a wakeboarding accident at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Colton was wakeboarding on the San Juan arm of Lake Powell on Friday, August 24, when he fell forward, hitting his head against the water surface.

Shortly after the accident, Colton soon began experiencing seizures. His friends got him to a nearby houseboat, which happened to have two nurses on board. They used marine band radio to call for help and began resuscitation efforts on Colton. He was flown Friday evening by medivac helicopter to the Flagstaff Medical Center.
