The first phase of the "Rock the Boat" project is underway.

Donated by Ed Hale of Hale’s Marine Service & Transport, the classic 21-foot, 1984 Chris-Craft Scorpion inboard cuddy cabin is on its way to Dan Turner of Sun Valley Fiber-Glas, Inc. to begin a new life.

The 1984 Chris Craft Scorpion Cuddy Cabin is a perfect fishing boat or lake cruiser.

After she is refurbished, she will be decked out in logos and names of all the sponsors of the "Rock the Boat" project.

Then, she will travel from lake to lake in Arizona as a public-relations vessel and also be available for the use of charitable organizations.

The Scorpion is one of at least two boats that will be used in the "Rock the Boat" project.

A second, larger vessel will be refurbished as well, and then auctioned off, with proceeds going to a charity to be decided by The Art Institute of Phoenix, who will also film various stages of the project.

Volunteers for the project are needed and welcome.
