Bagdad, Ariz., is one of only two company towns in Arizona. It’s a copper mining town in the hills north of Wickenburg, about 60 miles west of Prescott. The townsite and the mine are owned by Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold.

Bagdad is a small town with a population of about 2500 people, including the mine employees and their families, and school and local business people. I’ve seen it on the map every time we were headed to Vegas on Highway 93, and always wanted to go there. So the other day we decided to head up there for breakfast.
