Virtual Verde River Runoff
Get Outside And Paddle, Float, Swim
Celebrate Friends’ 10th anniversary with ten days of paddling for $10.
From Friends of the Verde River
Join Friends of the Verde River for their Annual Verde River Runoff – virtually! This year, Friends encourages water lovers from all over the world to get outside and paddle, float, swim or enjoy their favorite body of water, in honor of Friends of the Verde River. This event will take place from March 20 through March 30 – ten days of enjoying our beloved waters to honor ten years of Friends of the Verde River.
Join us in by registering for the 2021 Verde River Runoff. Paddle anywhere in the world, share your favorite moments from the water, and enjoy seeing highlights from other paddlers’ adventures. For 2021, the Verde River Runoff will be held as a virtual fundraising event, encouraging participants to paddle on their favorite body of water, in any location, in honor of Friends of the Verde River! Registration is $10.00 to honor Friends of the Verde River’s 10th year!
Story
In September 2020, Friends hosted their first Virtual Verde River Runoff, where they connected with paddlers from across the country. Participants enjoyed the added push to get out on their favorite body of water and support the Verde River.
Photo Contest
Friends received many photos from all over the country which inspired us to hold a photo contest for 2021! Please use hashtag #FriendsRunoff on social media, or email your photos directly to Friends!. Send us your photos of your paddle; show us your adventures, share your stories, and tell us about the animals you were able to see and the habitats you experienced! Remember to include the location of your adventure.
Snap a selfie on the water, take a few landscape pics, or photograph wildlife on the water body you paddle. Whatever you find beautiful on your paddle, we’d love to see as well! Share photos from your Verde River Runoff paddle, and the photo that we love the most will receive a Purdy Verde Prize Pack including a blanket, mug and 1 ticket to the Run the Verde Raffle. We can’t wait to see all the lovely places you adventure to!

Safe Boating Information
We hope you will enjoy a beautiful, fun, and safe paddle during this year’s Verde River Runoff. Please wear appropriate safety gear on the water, follow all local ordinances and COVID safety protocols, know your limits on the water, and check your maps before you go! Paddle with a buddy if you can.
Please also check the rate of flow if you plan to paddle moving water, and be sure to confirm that flow conditions are safe to navigate.
